The Kingdom Kangaroos came out to play on Sunday 1st March against the Falkirk Silverbacks.
The previous evening saw howling winds and torrential rain, but pitch 3 at Beveridge Park was in good form.
The rain held off until the final period but the wind on the day proved difficult for some kickers.
Both teams had a few débutantes and seasoned players and was a closely contested 4 quarters; ending with the hosts, Kingdom Kangaroos winning by 18 points.
The Kingdom Kangaroos are an Australian Football team based in Fife, Scotland. For the second year they will be entering the SARFL competition against 5 other teams, namely the Falkirk Silverbacks, Glasgow Sharks, Edinburgh Bloods, Glasgow Giants and the North Lanarkshire Wolves.
The Roos are playing at home again on the 21st March against the Glasgow Giants and again in the Haggis Cup in Edinburgh on the 11th April
The Kingdom Kangaroos are celebrating their first competitive game win and tournament win.
The newest Aussie Rules club in the Scotland, The Kingdom Kangaroos will hopefully join the SARFL in 2014. Following the success of other Scottish teams from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, the Roos are currently recruiting from the Fife and Central Scotland area and already have some players from, Kirkcaldy, Burntisland and Dunfermline and are training hard.
